CCM Hockey is revamping their ever-popular Tacks skate for the modern power skater. The CCM Tacks AS 560 Senior Ice Hockey Skates are built for strength and power while being lightweight. This skate provides more direct energy transfer and a closer fit to support the most intense skating strides.

Starting with the boot, the Tacks AS 560 Skates utilize CCM’s 3D injected boot. This boot is an ergonomic boot-shaping system for great comfort and has a new texturized finish for improved durability. It will be a 125 stiffness which is a solid core for good skating performance.

On the front of the AS 560 skate is a felt tongue with embossed lace-bite protection. This 7mm tongue will have added foam for comfort and protection.

The interior of the Tacks AS 560 Skates will have some comfort and durability-enhancing features. The HD microfiber liner is a high resistance moisture-wicking material that helps wick moisture away from the body, keeping them dry and light on their feet.

Moving to the bottom half of the Tacks AS 560 Skates, CCM utilizes their SpeedBlade holder and blade. This is a non-replaceable stainless-steel blade with elevated holder for an increased attack angle.

When you receive your skates, try them on and push your foot forward so that your toes (while flat) barely glance the toe cap. Bend your knee forward and look behind the heel of your foot down the skate. If you can fit a finger behind the heel easily, the skates are too big. A fingertip should be securely wedged between the heel of your foot and the back side of the skate.

While all players might have their own preference for fit, hockey skates should be 1 ½ sizes down from your shoe size. For most players this will be close to the proper fit. For example, if you are a U.S. Men’s shoe size 9, you would want to go with a skate size 7.5.
